Eyeyeye!
The eye hurting is a form of conjunctivitis... on the upper lid.

It's not infectious. The doctor said to put a warm compress on it 4 times a day and smear it with prescription gunk.

At least it's a by-product of the shingles, and not shingles themselves.

It's both good news and bad news... how weird is that! ;-)

Well, that's a drag, but I'm glad it's just that and not something more serious! I've had good luck with warm compresses and eye infections -- the more determined you are to follow the doctor's directions carefully, the better results you'll "see." Ha ha. :-P

Oh boy. We've gone through that several times and pink eye with the kids. Bummer. Hopefully it will get better soon.

Although conjunctivitis is annoying, it is certainly much better than the alternative. I hope you feel better soon!

Our kids have had conjunctivitis upteen times; and have developed a routine to assist in the several-times daily eye-drop treatment.

Basically one smartie per eye treated. Applied after treatment - so if they don't lie still they don't get their smartie. Other kids get smarties too for fairness' sake. End result - when the eyedrops come out the kids all come running. Truly Pavlovian.

So if you have trouble applying your eyedrops i suggest smarties. At least you'll come to enjoy the experience.
